The Agape Children's Choir
"There are 45 other children who now live at the Agape orphanage. They range in ages from 12 months to 18 years. Most of the children have lost their parents to AIDS. Agape was founded by a lady called Gogo "Grandma" Zodwa. She was working as an HIV counselor and found that many of the people she was counseling expressed deep concern about what would happen to their children when they were no longer around. So Zodwa established Agape to look after these children. Agape has had a tumultuous journey, but under Zodwa’s loving guidance it continues to grow stronger. Agape is a Greek word meaning 'unconditional love', which is exactly what the children at Agape receive."
The Road by Zero 7
Oh, dawn broke Heavy rains made it hard to load Is it time for the road? I don’t know, don’t know
Father has gone So let’s go hold your baby’s head And I won’t let go Of your hand, child of mine (Child of mine)
When it’s time to let go Then we’ll be up in heaven’s ground Every dream that I dream Let you have more than mine
Spirits will climb Into a time of your design All that I know Never will be told, oh, child of mine
After the flight Dead of night, oh, we’ll be peaceful Sweet laughter calls All of a sudden, no time for waiting
So I’m off on the road That I see might be coming And those dreams that I hold All for this child of mine
All that I know Never will it show, sweet child of mine All that I know Never will be told, oh, child of mine
Sweet child of mine Oh, child

"On a bitter cold Christmas morning, I arrived on this planet by way of the Glendive, Montana high school, because the hospital was full of flu patients. I weighed a mere five pounds and didn't have a spear of hair on my head until I was three."
"They tell me that one day I decided to crawl under the corral fence and visit the long horned cattle in there. They weren't used to being chased by anyone who wasn't on horseback, much less by a skinny, bald-headed toddler. Mama rescued me and I lived to tell you about it."
"Then, when I was two, came the flood. My crib was beside the window and I remember seeing the water rising up on the pane outside. I remember sitting on the window sill with Mama and Wesley to keep out of the water when the house tipped up and the furniture all slid down to the low side. I remember being carried by Papa across the plank he put from the window to the bank of the stream when the house lodged for a time before swirling on down [the mountain] to its destruction."
"I never didn't want to get married, but God gave me many children."
"I'm going to live forever. If you don't believe that, read John 3:16."
Of the ones I knew, four of my schoolmates didn't make it back, but I'm sure there were more. When I touched the names inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., that's when I wept. One lived on one end of my street, and another at the other "T" end of my street. Richard and Donald, they were older--the oldest brothers in each family. Then there was one classmate who had argued as a "hawk" and another as a "dove" in government class. Neither Tom nor Robert returned. Our neighbor's brother made it back. I had a date with him the summer he returned. We laughed so much.
Stairway To Heaven, sung by Dolly Parton
http://www.imeem.com/ralphmanuel/music/L37-SCa6/dolly-parton-stairway-to-heaven/
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
When she gets there she knows if the stores are all closed,
With a word she can get what she came for
Ooh, a stairway to heaven
There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Oh-oh, makes me wonder. I wonder; I really, really wonder There's a feelin’ I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leavin’
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand lookin’
Ooh.
It's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason,
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
Oh-oh-oh-oh, Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow don't be alarmed now.
It's just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still some time to change the road you're on
Oh, it makes me wonder
Your head is hummin’ and it won't go in case you don't know,
The piper's callin’ you to join him
Oh, can you hear the wind blow
And did you know your stairway lies upon the whisperin’ wind
Stairway to heaven, stairway to heaven
You can’t buy it, you can’t borrow
You’ve got to walk it straight and narrow
Stairway to heaven, stairway to heaven, stairway to heaven
And as we walk on down the road
Our shadows longer than our souls,
All that glitters is not gold
Wanna be a rock and not a roll
Oh, the great almighty dollar leaves you lonely, lost and hollow
You can’t fool yourself forever
You gotta work to get to heaven
Stairway to heaven.
If we listen and hold fast
To every question that we asked
The truth will come to us at last
And she’s buying a stairway to heaven

Tiny Songs in Heaven
"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And yet not one of them is forgotten or uncared for in the presence of God.
Do not be anxious and troubled . . .
Consider the birds; for they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn; and yet God feeds them. Of how much more worth are you than the birds!
Consider the flowers, how they grow. They neither wearily toil nor spin nor weave; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his splendor and magnificence was not arrayed like one of these."

Ohh, hearing "Bring Him Back Home" by Hugh Masekela can make you happy. I bought the CD as soon as I could get out of the car the first time I heard part of it on the radio a few years ago! The music is so happy!
The Langley Schools Music Project is a 60-voice chorus of rural school children from western Canada, untrained but captivated by melodic magic, singing tunes by the Beach Boys, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, The Bay City Rollers, and others. The students accompany themselves with the shimmering gamelan chimes of Orff percussion, and elemental rock trimmings arranged by their itinerant music teacher, Hans Fenger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eric Wainaina: "I grew up wanting to be a doctor, but decided to venture into music due to the manner in which music is able to transcend all barriers and reach out to the hearts and minds of people. I have worked with Atemi Oyungu, Chizi, Oliver Mtukudzi, and shared a stage with several talented acts such as Lady Smith Black Mambazo, Ishmaelo, Hugh Masekela."
Up in the morning, out on the job work like a devil for my pay And that lucky old sun ain't got nothing to do but roll around heaven all day . . . Dear Lord above can't you see I'm cryin' tears are in my eyes Send down the cloud with that silvery lining take me to paradise Show me that river and lead me across, take all my troubles away Like that lucky old sun give me nothing to do but roll around heaven all day But roll around heaven all day

Summer smiles but passes on Autumn sings her lonely song The robin waits for spring But what will waiting bring Winter spreads her blanket down White and flawless on the ground The flowers can’t be seen But you’re my evergreen Cold north wind has come around Fragile ones stay underground But there is one who thrives Despite the chilling sky The one I love is constant, though Seasons come and seasons go She will abide with me My darling evergreen The one I love is constant, though Seasons come and seasons go She will abide with me My darling evergreen
